Clock Networking Platform Globally Optimizes for Peak Efficiency
Maestro Cloud is our most robust and feature rich intelligent clock networking platform for use in complex and high performance SoC applications including data centers and networking.
Clock distribution networks have far reaching impact and are one of the largest on-chip interconnects. They deliver synchronizing signals across a chip to coordinate the flow of data by propagating clock edges to every flipflop. Clock networks are critical to the efficient operation of a chip and have a dramatic impact on power, performance, and area.
A virtual mesh is incorporated into Maestro Cloud and can be thought of as a network-on-chip (NoC) for the clock. This virtual mesh can sense and compensate for inter-block interactions globally. It enables automatic self-regulation of clocking throughout the SoC. Maestro Cloud enables highly efficient ultra-low power operation and supports high frequency multi-Ghz performance. It eliminates the need to overdesign the system to compensate for on-chip variation or skew.
The Maestro platform automates the development of robust clock network solutions with powerful new tools. It combines a clock architecture, software automation, and application-optimized IP to solve common clocking challenges. Maestro Cloud incorporates TrueDigital™ modules including Clock Generator Modules (CGM), Smart Clock Modules (SCM), and Phase Shift Modules (PSM). CGMs are used for a variety of functions including clock synchronization and improved signal quality along the clock path. SCMs automatically sense and compensate for on-chip variation and skew in the SoC clock path during runtime. PSMs advance or delay the clock on the fly and are used to eliminate clock skew.
Maestro Cloud includes a master RTL-codebase that can be configured to generate code that precisely meets application specifications. Its fully synthesizable architectures enable rapid RTL-to-GDS implementation and optimization. The platform works seamlessly with existing digital tools and methodologies and significantly improves development time. Application-optimized to custom specifications, Maestro Cloud clocking solutions can be used in data centers, 5G networking, automotive, and other high-performance computing. They are silicon-proven across foundries including TSMC, GF, UMC, and Fujitsu and can support implementation for non-standard process nodes.
